Monday Made It- The Toolbox!

Happy Monday, everyone! I was actually looking forward to this Monday because it is my first link up! I'm excited to link up with 4th Grade Frolics and share what I've made recently!

I have seen these teacher toolboxes all over blogs, Pinterest, and instagrams. Finally, I decided that I wanted to create one as well. Boy, am I happy I took it on! My current classroom is smaller {much smaller} than my classroom from last year. I wanted my supplies in one place and easy to locate. This was perfect! But it was also EASY.

I chose the 18 drawer toolbox from Lowe's. I had seen some that had different sizes of drawers, but I don't mess around. I need my stuff to fit. And for a $3 difference, it wasn't even a question!
My class colors are going to be blue and purple, and I just couldn't find labels that I liked. So I made my own :) I'm working on getting them up in my TpT store!
To get the labels in my the drawers I just used transparent tape. SO EASY! I probably finished the whole thing in 30 minutes.

 You can't see the tape!

And before I knew it I was finished! I am SO happy with it. Now, all I need is to get the hubby to come hang it :)

I've been trying to get this new room ready. I don't like staying at school for a long time, so I've been trying to chunk it. A little bit at a time, right?? Plus, laminating in the summer is the best! No lines and no rush! Can you see the How to Be a Friend posters from Digital: Divide & Conquer? You can get those here. I am so excited to hang them above my second grader's cubbies! You can grab the purple alphabet posters from my store here! Like I said, I've been specific with colors. So I made my own! {PLUS} everything is still a dollar in my store, so get it fast!
One of my goals for the year is to increase high order thinking. I love when I can get the students to really think about their work. I snagged this cute thing at The Dollar Tree! I'm excited to put it to use.

That my was project this morning, and now I'm on to shopping with a friend! Tell me what you have made, I would love to know!

  1. You will absolutely love having a toolbox! I've been in small rooms these past couple years and it made a huge difference to have all my office supplies in one central spot.

    1. You should definitely still do it! My school has a slicer but it's pretty dull, so I went to my husband's work to slice them all! My work mixed with others was a little funny, haha!

  5. Love all the toolboxes I see. My school is under construction right now but if I don't have built in drawers in my area, I will need to jump on the toolbox!
